Get involved with one of our Ministry Teams:

Buildings & Grounds

The Building and Grounds Ministry Team works towards providing an inviting environment to meet and worship by coordinating care, maintenance, and improvements of the church building and property. The team also sponsors a church clean-up day in the spring and the fall.

Congregational Care
The Congregational Care Ministry Team builds community by creating opportunities for members to grow in their faith through participation in fellowship events and to live out their faith through service to other members in a variety of activities. In ministry to Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, the team extends a hand of friendship and welcome to new members to our church. They do that by coordinating Lenten Soup suppers, bake sales, preparing and serving food for special events such as graduate celebrations, confirmation Sunday, potluck luncheons, and Sunday morning coffee and donut hospitality hour.
Evangelism & Outreach
We work to encourage and promote the sharing of our Christian faith with others, both within and outside of the church. Using the gifts of invitation, hospitality and compassion, this ministry team encourages the congregation to invite and welcome visitors to share in our worship and church life.
Faith Formation
We work with all ages from birth to death to provide education and support for Christ’s disciples in their faith journey.  Ways that we do that are to build up at teach our teachers and leaders in Sunday school, and small group Bible studies, support our youth through fundraising opportunities so they are able to attend Confirmation camp, and for our high school, and young adults who go on mission trips to explore their faith.  We also organize activities for inter-generational fellowship, such as our 1st Wednesday event where anyone, and everyone is invited to share in a meal, and an activity or game where we get to know one another.
The Generosity Ministry Team of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, in ministry to our congregation, our community, and the world, joyfully and prayerfully supports and encourages individual and corporate stewardship of resources, service, and financial commitment as testimony to the generosity of our Lord.

Social     Concerns                                                                                                                                                                                                      We are in ministry to Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church Congregation, our community, and the world. The Social Concerns Ministry Team strives to increase the congregation’s awareness of local, national, and international needs. We recruit involvement in community activities designed to meet these needs, and to respond to special needs and/or emergencies of church members as they occur. A few of the activities we promote and support are our local MS Bike Ride, Crop Walk, and sponsor the Angel Tree for foster children in the care of Lutheran Family Services.

Worship & Music
The Worship and Music Ministry Team plans and supports opportunities to glorify and praise God in Spirit-filled, meaningful worship. Through Sunday morning and seasonal services, the people of God are nurtured in the growth of their faith as they experience God’s grace and forgiveness through Word, sacrament, and song.
